Post-exposure management of healthcare worker bloodborne exposure is a process that should be clearly outlined in medical and dental practices. Recently the CDC published Testing and Clinical Management of Health Care Personnel Potentially Exposed to Hepatitis C Virus, which provides updated guidance on post-exposure management.

  • Recommended testing for both the source patient and exposed healthcare worker
  • Follow-up for documented hepatitis C exposure
